The first Festival was successfully held in eleven cities last spring and was one of the highlights of the Russian music of the season.
The aim of the Festival is to acquaint the Russian audience with the most interesting and rare phenomena traditional music of USA. Its members are the unique groups that have had a major impact on the development of musical culture of the country and contribute to the maintenance of its historic heritage.
The second concert of the festival will be held in nine Russian cities. In St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Chelyabinsk, Tolyatti, Ulyanovsk and Kirov will feature acoustic blues, hip music played on traditional instruments сonjunto and western swing, vintage country, bluegrass, jazz, swing, standards and traditional violin music in the Texas style.
Each of the bands at the festival: Los Texmaniacs, The Quebe Sisters Band and Modern Blues Mastersis is considered a U.S national treasure. By tradition, the Festival performances of musicians in Russia will be an absolute premiere.
Los Texmaniacs is a conjunto group founded by legendary musician Max Baca, playing in the Bajo sexto, 12 string instrument resembling a guitar.
The Quebe Sisters Band in his native America named «The Pride of Texas» quite rightly in 2000. «Sisters Quebe » broke into the music scene and immediately captivated the audience. The Quebe Sisters Band includes violinists Grace, Sophia and Hulda Quebe and guitarist Joey L. McKenzie and bassist Gavin Kelso.
Modern Blues Masters is acoustic blues trio, opening new shades of blues. Each of the members of the trio — Phil Wiggins, Guy Davis and Samuel James are brilliant. Music of Modern Blues Masters exquisitely combines the effect of different cultural traditions and contemporary musical trends. Playing the harmonica accompanied phenomenal guitar and vocals, Guy Davis Samuel James, Phil Wiggins created a unique style of blues, to stand in front of which it is hardly possible.
