Ekaterina Mechetina performs in a series of "romantic concert" Moscow Philharmonic

Ekaterina Mechetina born into a family of musicians in Moscow: the father is a cellist, his mother is a pianist. She started playing music since she was four. She graduated from Conservatory Vladimir Ovchinnikov, and in 2004 postgraduate studies with Professor Sergei Dorensky.

In 10 years, won the Grand Prix at the contest «Mozart Award» in Verona. At 16, she won the contest Busoni in Bolzano, then competition in Epinal (2nd Prize, 1999), Viotti in Vercelli (2nd Prize, 2002), in Pinerolo (1st Prize, 2003), the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati (1st Prize, 2004). In 2003, she received an encouraging youth grant award «Triumph».

In 2011, she was awarded the Prize of the President of Russia for young cultural for 2010 and in the same year, Ekaterina Mechetina joined the Council for Culture and Arts under the President of Russia. Since 2007, the Moscow Philharmonic exclusively represents E. Mechetin performances in Moscow and in Russia.

The repertoire comprises more than thirty concertos for piano and orchestra, and many solo programs. Rodion Shchedrin entrusted her with the world premiere of his Sixth Piano Concerto. Teaches at the Moscow Conservatory — assistant with Professor A. Mndoyants.
