Moscow Philharmonic presents a concert of subscription "Stars of XXI century"

 

The evening will be opened by Overture to Dvorak’s opera  «Othello», perhaps the only time reference to Shakespeare’s immortal story in symphonic music, which became final of symphonic trilogy of «Nature, Life, and Love», consisting of overtures «in nature», «Carnival» and «Othello». 
Program will continue to «Burlesque» by Richard Strauss, which is an early work of the composer, which is apparently influenced by Johannes Brahms, expressivity of Richard Wagner and Franz Liszt piano style.
One of the most striking of Liszt piano masterpieces is «Dance of Death.» This virtuoso piece is also one of the most outstanding examples of software in piano music
Edward Elgar is revered in England as a national hero, along with William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Bernard Shaw and Henry Purcell.

Soloists participating in this concert are especially remembered by the audience for performances at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. 
Sergei Antonov won the XIII International Tchaikovsky Competition.
 Maestro Charles Olivieri-Munroe long established itself as an experienced, thoughtful interpreter of different repertoire. The authoritative German edition Suddeutche Zeitung, stated it sees in this young conductor «combination Furtwängler and young Karajan.
