The State Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of Karelia takes part in 2-nd Symphony Forum of Russia, Ekaterinburg.

In September, 23-30, 2012 The State Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of Karelia under Marius Stravinsky went on tour to Ekaterinburg to take part in 2-nd Symphony Forum of Russia. The orchestra has been invited for the first time to this professional conference.
The Forum takes the idea of worldwide symphony orchestras, which has been held in Moscow since 2006 with tremendous success and is a kind of showcase of the achievements of world symphonic art. The 2-nd Symphony Forum is more focused on regional orchestras. Ekaterinburg conference will allow the public, and also conductors, orchestra managers, critics and the press to get a «slice of state» of the Russian symphonism today. In 2012 along with the staff of the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic society – the Ural Academic Philharmonic Orchestra – 7 orchestras take part in 2-nd Symphony Forum of Russia , including : The Symphony Orchestra of New Russia (artistic director and chief conductor — Yuri Bashmet), Belgorod Symphony Orchestra (artistic director and chief conductor — Rashid Nigamatullin); Volgograd Symphony Orchestra (artistic director and chief conductor — Eduard Serov); Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra (artistic director and chief conductor — Mark Kadin) and others.
While touring the orchestra will give two concerts: in September, 26 in the concert hall of the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic and in September, 27 and a branch of the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic concert hall in Asbest. The concert program will be: R. Rautio — Suite on the theme of «Kalevala», J. Sibelius — Symphony № 4, Rachmaninov — Symphony № 4 Press service of the Karelian State Philarmonic
