In Yaroslavl starts International Festival "Jazz on the Volga"

“Jazz on the Volga «- the oldest jazz festival in Russia, which is held once in every two years in the city of Yaroslavl. The first festival was held in 1979. During its existence, the festival has become international; it was attended by almost all the important jazz artists and ensembles in Russia, as well as many foreign musicians.

For six days the concerts of Russian, Lithuanian, Polish, Estonian, American, German, French, Swiss musicians will take place at various venues DC, at the Philharmonic and the Jazz Centre.

Festival for the first time to begin a concert in the town hall of Yaroslavl. In the City Hall will perform one of the musical groups of the German city of Hanau Fanfarenzug und Prinzengarde Steinheim, which consists of 17 musicians playing drums, sousaphone, trumpets and horns. In addition, the concert was American jazz vocalist Chloe Brisson and jazz quintet Andrew Martynenko.

Another highlight of the festival will be a meeting with a special guest, the owner of one of the most successful jazz labels of the world Criss Cross Jerry Tikkensom from the Netherlands .
