Vladimir Fedoseyev Festival "Under the cover of Music" opens in Moscow

During the festival, the Tchaikovsky Big Symphony Orchestra. by Vladimir Fedoseyev will perform a varied program with the participation of renowned choirs and soloists.

The festival opens with a concert of the «King’s ticket», which sounds opera-oratorio by Igor Stravinsky «Oedipus the King» performed by the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Choir.

The Reader role is performed by Nikolai Marton who is the artist of Alexandrinsky Theatre. Also among the soloists tenor are Maxim Paster (Oedipus), mezzo-soprano Olesya Petrova (Jocasta), bass Mikhail Guzhov (Creon), bass Vadim Lynkovsky (Tiresias), tenor Alex Tatarintsev (Shepherd);

The second concert of the festival will be performed on December 5: Beethoven Overture «Leonore number 3», «Unfinished Symphony» by Schubert and Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony. The third concert on December 21 in the performance of the Big Symphony Orchestra: musical compositions by Shostakovich (Festive Overture in A major, op. 96 and the Concerto for violin and orchestra No. 1), as well as the premiere of Rybnikov’s «Music of Lycia.» Violinist Vadim Repin will be the Soloist.

The final concert of the festival will be held on December 26. At the Great Hall of the Conservatory. It will be performed by Symphony Orchestra and Vladimir Fedoseyev  and audience will see the first appearance of rising star Julia Lezhneva (soprano). The program will feature performances virtuoso arias from operas by Salieri, Mozart and Rossini.
