Gala-concert of Bulgaria opera stars during the Days of Culture of Bulgaria in Russia

Today we continue our story on holding concerts during the celebration of Days of Bulgarian Culture in Russia. You already know about the performance of famous opera singers Kamen Chanev (tenor), Vladimir Stoyanov (baritone) and star of the international opera scene Krasimira Stoyanova (soprano) on the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, to participate in the gala opening concert of the famous Bulgarian church music ensemble «Ioan Koukouzel-angeloglasni”. Unique film images were presented to the audience, through which you can see and hear the performance of the legendary Bulgarian singers, who left a trace in the history of Bulgarian opera art — Boris Hristov, Nikolai Gyaurov, Gena Dimitrova.
As for Boris Hristov, this name is known far beyond the borders of Bulgaria. It is known that during his work on the opera «Boris Godunov» in the «Covent Garden» Hristov defended the right to perform the Godunov party in Russian and was able to make changes to the plan of staging the play, because the direction was «inaccurate and decorations alien to the Russian spirit.»
It’s thanks to the great singer Western European audiences were able to hear the immortal version of Mussorgsky’s opera in the original language 30 years after Feodor Chaliapin.
Boris Hristov trained several generations of students. Among them Plamen Beikov, whose performance will be seen 21 November at 19.00 on the stage of the Shostakovich St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic.
The program includes works by Verdi , Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Leoncavallo, Puccini, Mascagni, Shostakovich, Khrennikov. Apart from Plamen Beikov, Alexander Nosikov (bass), Apostol Milenkov (bass-baritone), Maria Zhekova (mezzo-soprano) and Vladimir Galizin (tenor). The Mikhailovsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra under Mikhail Tatarnikov will also take part in the concert. It will be a memorable evening. Do not miss out!
